Meet Kat, a certified professional dog trainer with a wealth of experience under the guidance of Joel Silverman, the esteemed show host of Dog University on Animal Planet and author of "What Color is Your Dog." Just as Joel has emphasized, Kat understands that, like people, dogs have unique learning styles.

Kat is dedicated to building a strong bond between you and your pup, taking the time to nurture a relationship that enhances the training experience. Beyond standard training, Kat is passionate about assisting veterans and their service dogs, particularly those dealing with PTSD.

In addition to her commitment to veterans, Kat can help your dog achieve various certifications, including CDC, Canine Good Citizen, and even SHIP certification. Her involvement with numerous nonprofits in the valley showcases her commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Join one of Kat's training classes for therapy dogs, where her expertise and passion come together to create a supportive learning environment for both you and your canine companion.

Board and Train Program

Our Board and Train program is recommended for busy clients who don’t have time for weekly sessions and want to see quick results. This intensive program is two weeks long. During that time, your dog will learn how to: sit, down, stay, go to your spot, go in your crate, come, heel, respond to a release word and in general, be a calmer, more responsive, obedient dog. We also address specific behavioral issues that you want to be rid of (but this will not include aggression-that is a separate matter that needs to be dealt with individually). A follow-up handling session will be provided so you can learn how to maintain the line of communication that has been established with your dog. We use positive reinforcement and scientifically based methods to motivate your dog to consistently perform desired behaviors. Consequently, they will enjoy performing the behaviors we prefer.

Puppy Classes

Learn basic behaviors along with housetraining, learning to be handled, learning to stop mouthing, jumping or chewing, learning how to be called away from playing and how to play nicely with others.

For puppies 6 months and older:

Bring a variety of treats to class (2-3 varieties)

6-foot lead NO FLEXI LEADS

Bring a hungry dog— do not feed breakfast day of class.

In addition to having your puppy become "super socialized," they will learn basic dog obedience with other pups. The 7 Requests for Success - "sit," "stay," "come," "down," "loose leash walking," "leave it" and "go to your spot." Your puppy will learn this with hand signals and voice cues. No harsh corrections.

In our puppy class and socialization classes, your puppy will also learn important bite inhibition skills. We will give you a greater understanding of your role in your puppy's behavioral quest and how they originated. We then provide you with many practical applications on how to overcome them, turning them from potential negative experiences into positive experiences.

Beginning Obedience Classes

Learn all the basic behaviors including sit, stay, down, come, and walk on a loose leash.

Intermediate Obedience Classes

Strengthen basic behaviors around distractions, for longer periods of time, and from a greater distance.

Canine Good Citizen

The American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen program is the standard of behavior for dogs in our communities. Canine Good Citizen is part of the AKC Family Dog Program. It also provides an excellent foundation for getting started in dog sports.

As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you’ll discover the many benefits of training. You’ll enhance your bond with your dog and experience pride in owning a well-behaved pup. The CGC award is a prerequisite for many therapy dog groups and emotional support dogs.
